What we can do for your furniture

Every job starts with a few photos and a conversation. Below is what we usually do, but if you have a piece that doesn't fit here, just ask.

Old wooden chest of drawers

Wooden furniture

Chests of drawers, wardrobes, tables, sideboards, cabinets, desks and nightstands. We start from what the piece needs: a spot repair, a new finish or a full restoration.

  • Cleaning and stripping
  • Joint repairs
  • Veneer patching
  • Sanding
  • Staining
  • Wax, shellac or lacquer
  • Hardware cleaned or replaced

Good to know: not every scratch needs sanding. Sometimes a clean and a good wax bring the piece back without losing its patina.

Leather Chesterfield sofa

Sofas and armchairs

Full or partial reupholstery for sofas, armchairs, footstools and corner sofas. We keep a sound frame and rebuild everything that has worn out inside.

  • New webbing and springs
  • Foam and wadding
  • Fabric, velvet or leather
  • Button tufting
  • Cushions rebuilt
  • Exposed wood restored

Good to know: with the quote we show you material samples, so you can pick the right texture and colour for your room.

Wooden chair with green upholstery

Carved and dining chairs

Carved chairs, dining chairs, bentwood chairs and benches. We make them solid and comfortable again.

  • Joints reglued
  • Legs and stretchers rebuilt
  • Seats upholstered
  • Caning redone
  • New finish

Good to know: for sets of chairs we treat every piece the same way, so they look consistent around the table.

Old wooden chairs

Old and heirloom pieces

Old, inherited or collectable furniture. We intervene as little as possible and keep everything we can from the original: the wood, the hardware and the patina.

  • Assessment before work
  • Minimal intervention
  • Structural consolidation
  • Colour touch-ups
  • Traditional finishes

Good to know: before any work on a valuable piece, we agree together on what is kept and what is redone.

Materials and finishes

We choose the materials together

Wax

A warm, natural finish that is easy to look after. Suits old furniture.

Shellac

A deep, classic shine, traditionally used on period furniture.

Oil

Brings out the wood grain and is easy to refresh.

Lacquer

Resistant to wear and moisture, good for tables and tops in daily use.

Fabric and velvet

Dozens of textures and colours, from classic to modern.

Leather

Natural or faux, for armchairs, chairs and sofas.
